MSI Sports Performance Internship Program

Maplezone Sports Institute (MSI) is a 70,000 square-foot indoor sports center and a 35- acre, 7 field multi-sports turfed and lite outdoor complex located just off Route 95 just minutes away from Philadelphia, Delaware and New Jersey. Servicing all age groups and professional athletes alike, MSI has become the most comprehensive multi-sports facility in the Tri-State Region by providing top level training, in house teams (baseball, softball, boys and girls lacrosse and soccer), indoor and outdoor leagues, camps, clinics, special programs, sports performance programs and tournaments

Internship Program Description 
Interning with MSI will provide you with an opportunity to gain over 200 hours of hands on strength and conditioning experience. The MSI staff will spend time teaching you the intricacies of coaching, program design, and assessing athletes of all levels. During this program, you will not be wasting time cleaning or sweeping the facility, but instead you will be expected to be on the training floor coaching athletes and interacting with parents and clients. 
In addition to your weekly training floor hours, as an intern, you will be part of a weekly staff in-service where various strength and conditioning topics will be discussed and presented by the Sports Performance staff. You will be encouraged to not only learn the hands on coaching and assessing skills, but also stay educated through the staff’s educational library of books, DVD’s and research papers. 
On a daily basis interns duties and responsibilities include

  • Instructing foam rolling and dynamic warm-ups to new clients
  • Coaching clients through sprints and movement training
  • Coaching clients through their strength training program
  • Maintaining the set-up of the gym
